VINEYARDS
The Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River is predominantly sourced for its consistency in producing rich fruit flavours and a small percentage is sourced from the Wallcliffe sub-region, located further south providing subtle and elegant aromatics and fine tannins.
SEASON
Good winter rainfall combined with a warm spring and summer period inspired vigorous vine growth and resulted in harvest starting one week earlier than last year. The quality of fruit is outstanding and has resulted in wines that are fine and elegant with brilliant colour, beautiful ripe fruit character and silky smooth tannins.

WINEMAKING
A considerable number of parcels go into making our Cabernet Merlot blend, each parcel is kept separate throughout the winemaking process, until blending prior to bottling. Hand-picked fruit is crushed and destemmed to Static Fermenters. Ferments are maintained at cool temperatures with minimal pump overs, to ensure delicate extraction of flavours and colour. After primary ferment each parcel is carefully pressed off and sent to a mix of new, second and third use French oak barrels for secondary ferment and maturation for twelve months.

TASTING NOTES
This wine has aged beautifully in our cellar and is drinking superbly. A core of rich dark berries wrapped in forest floor, cedar, leather and savoury notes. Great length and elegance.
